LLOYD L9000 PROGRAMMER REPAIR

Post by exxos »

I bought this as a spares or repair so I was expecting it to be in some sort of bad state. I certainly wasn't wrong!

So let's take the thing to bits!

Starting to see how much of this thing is actually corroded!

On this one, that IC was only really corroded on the top of the pin. So I cleaned up the chip and put contact grease in the socket to stop it corroding any further. I just wish other sockets would have been as easy!

Basically took me the entire day scrape off the corrosion. Tinplate the tracks and remove a few sockets and capacities and replace them.

It is all still very much WIP!

A couple of the RAM sockets are also corroded but I really don't want to change them unless I really have to. While the programer itself is built like a tank, unfortunately the PCB is of really bad quality. It burns incredibly easily and the copper comes off very easily :(

Hi,

It is device in really bad condition. Indeed there is a lot of work. Do you have any diagrams of it? In case of serious failure... I have Allpro88 programmer. I fixed it almost year.

I've not looked for schematics, I assume they don't exist. There is a manual somewhere.

Thought I'd give it a try and impressive results!

Rinse the board off with deionised water (as used in car batteries) as it is the most pure without "junk" in it.

Then ledged it on top of my air filter to dry it out.

Busy doing a bit of cleaning.

It is a bit odd some switches seems to be at a different angle to the rest

Also been doing more socket changes and other repairs all over the place.

I'm not going to spend any more time on it now. I just need to wait for my replacement caps and battery to arrive and I will give it a test to see if the thing even works!
