Hey quick question here. I have a Mega ST with an ISA adapter with an ET4000 installed. EMUTos is fantastic with it's auto driver support, but there are times when I don't want the drivers running so that I can play some games or run other software that isn't compatible with the higher resolution modes.
I was wondering if there is a simple way to disable the ET4000 drivers within EMUTos at bootup? Running version 1.1.1. Everything else is totally awesome.
Cheers!

Re: EMUTos and ET4000
As a matter of interest what resolution (Monochrome/Colour, bpp) do you get when booting from EMUtos? Are there any other resolutions too?
Could you post a picture of EMUtos booting and after - thanks
The reason I ask, is I am working on a ET4000 emulation for PiStorm

Re: EMUTos and ET4000
EmuTOS only initializes the ET4000 to 640x480 monochrome. The idea is that you load the ET4000 drivers (e.g., Nova VDI or NVDI) to get higher resolutions and color. The main purpose is that you'll get the boot screen, the early console (accessible via [Esc]), and your boot manager already on the ET4000 (or Mach32) VGA output. (It also serves as fallback when the drivers are not loaded; as EmuTOS of course will be fully operational in 640x480x2.)dad664npc wrote: 10 Aug 2023 16:12 As a matter of interest what resolution (Monochrome/Colour, bpp) do you get when booting from EMUtos? Re: EMUTos and ET4000
Thanks for confirming - it was just the way the initial post was worded. I read in to it that there were other resolutions possible at boot time.
FYI - PiStorm performance is very promising ...

Re: EMUTos and ET4000
I have the PiStorm working with NOVA VDI / ET4000 up to max res of 1024x768 256 colours. What I would like next is to have 1024x768 with 64k colours (2MB). Does anyone know if there is a suitable driver for that? (ST, STe). I'm using the Idek driver at the moment. There is a driver for the ET4000W32i, but only for MSTe and TT

Re: EMUTos and ET4000
You can try NVDI5 install with the ET4000 Option. NVDI 5.03 has the lasted VMG for the ET4000 and ET4000/W32 ...
You have to set the NVDIVGA.INF (AUTO FOLDER) right and working with help from the VMG first.
Nova ET4000 and W32i only for 1MB cards, Ask Idek for help or use the Nova ATI MACH32 driver ...

Re: EMUTos and ET4000
Many thanks for that.
I have re-installed NVDI5 and selected ET4000. boots in to 640x480 Monochrome. If I run SLCT_DEV.PRG it lists available resolutions, but when I select any, it panics with a TRAPV
