Hi Everyone St Lovers afar.
Just thought I would start of my 1st forum post on here, and perhaps be pointed in the right direction.
My name is Jamie, I own a small collection of old computers, bit of a passion of mine among manynother hobbies, musician, artist and bit of a builder and general hippy geek lol.back in the early 90s I owned a 520STFM, but started out with Amstrad cpc464 and speccy plus 2 and 3 but was using acorn archimedes at school and friends pc. Also owned amigas used for sampling etc. Many years later I have aquired a 520ste and another amiga 1200 plan is to make them nice and max them out for the joy of it and make them do things I never did back in the day.
I bought 4mb ram of Exxos forum shop, and I wish to do the mandatory fixes and tweaks, PSU gets very hot and smells, so Im considering purchasing the toroid one rather than a recap, Someone once said if it works leave it but i like to future proof. I also like idea of switchable TOS and switchable CPU booster, also I plan on keeping internal floppy :-) Already bought the sd4st SDHD its great but I love floppies call me sad but I do haha.. Now then after scanning the forum I think The sony drive requires some new caps and a service, it spins but nothing happens. I have taken a pic of the model. Also I have just taken photos of the internals with part numbers as I am hoping to get some these extra modification parts via the forum shop.
Shall i upload all my pics to thks new thread re these upgrades or am I best of starting this elsewhere.?
Thanks very much indeed, Jamie. :)

Welcome to the forum, if you have specific questions to ask, then I'd suggest you add a new post and add any pictures in the relevant section of the forum, i.e. Hardware.
That way the questions are split out from the rest and easier for people to respond to.
