TF 1260 Black screen after FW Update

Post by Mr.Micro »

Hi all, new to the forum, 35+yrs (Yikes) with Commodore computers.

That being said, I just updated the firmware on my TF1260 and all I get is a black screen. I tried reverting back to the original BETA (999) and that produces a black screen as well, except I also get some 'audio flutter' for about 10 seconds, and then nothing.

I haven't contacted the builder yet, just thought I'd come here first. I'm not new to flashing and compared to flashing an (E)EPROM, this is a cake walk, so not really sure what happened. The flash program finished without errors, but I'm not sure the checksum/verify method on that.

BTW, I'm using modified 3.2.2 kicks that auto load ehide.device, so loadmodule is not required in my start-up. However, I did revert back to my unmodified 3.2 kicks with same results.

Thanks in advance!

Best,
J

Hi.

What flashing method are you using Raspberry Pi?

If using a Pi:
One thing I have managed to do in the past when copy/pasting commands is not change the 0 to 1 when programming the Bus and then Ram (or otherwise round, I can't remember so please check) so I ended up overwriting the CPLD code with the wrong info instead of copying it to the correct area.

Also check that all Fuses are correct (or whatever the term is that appears on the screen) I have had times where I've kept getting errors so needed to reprogram many times.

Hi,

Thanks for response. I'm using FTDI cable, easy-peasy right? lol

I wanted to attach a pic of the screen output, but after reading the forum rules, I saw 'links' aren't preferred, so I needed to regroup and figure out the attachment procedure, so here's a screen shot of my output.
