Hello community,
I don't know if this is the right place to post. Feel free to move if needed.
I would like to know if anyone has DSTB available and ready to be installed ?
I would like to boost my MSTE which is in 4 Mo + CosmoEx. (I should soon put a 68882 coprocessor on it)
Thank you.

Re: [DSTB]MSTE
DSTB has a DIP layout for starters. The MSTE has a PLCC CPU IIRC ? So it will not fit. Also the MSTE is a much more complicated computer and while items are designed for the ST series for example, they may not work with the MSTE.
Incidentally I do have one of the DSTB prototypes here, but have not had time to do much testing with it yet. So I do not class it as " commercially ready" until I have done in-depth testing. Indeed I would not produce it until such tests have been done and there was significant interest to get them produced as well.
@Badwolf May be able to give you more information.

Re: [DSTB]MSTE
I'm afraid, even with an adapter, I would be surprised if there weren't problems with using a DSTB1 on a Mega STE.
For starters, DSTB1 is designed to mediate between an 8MHz board and a 16MHz chip whereas MSTE is a 16MHz board.
Secondly I don't know what effect the ST-RAM cache would have on things as it's not something I've had to think about during design. Could be fine. Could cause odd interactions.
I don't have an MSTE so I'm unlikely to be able to build anything for it.
Apologies!

Re: [DSTB]MSTE
Thank you both for your responses.
So, I will rather look to equip my 1040 STE with this BOOSTER. (on the one hand so much the better, I want to test other things with my MSTE)...
So when you've done some tests, I'll surely take one.
P.S.: if I can help you to test a prototype for MSTE, STE, STF, ST ... do not hesitate .. ccarl84

For the MegaSTE have you considered the MonSTer:

Indeed, the MonSTer would make me happy.
2 points however make me reflect: the fact of "having" only 6 Mo out of 8 Mo in Alt-RAM, but I can largely be satisfied with it. And the second point for me is the soldering to activate the Blitter.
I've always been hesitant to try one with one of my STE's (1040, 520).
I'll think about it.
Thanks

Bonjour Steve,
Effectivement, the MonSTer me ferait plaisir.
Merci
