TOS version vs Utrsatan

Hi,

I have now two STEs - one 1040 and one 512. One has a TOS switcher between 1.62 and 2.06 and the second one has only stock 1.62. I have Ultrasatan and it only works on the 1040STE when I select 2.06 TOS. When I try to boot it on 1.62 on both machines I just got empty desktop with no icons (not even floppies). Is this the case I need a higher TOS version to enable Ultrasatan to work?

One question - I have multiple partitions and on 2.06 it is mapping and showing icons for all while on 1.62 only C - how can I get access to other partitions?

IIRC TOS 2.06 uses newdesk.inf, which doesn't work with earlier versions of TOS which use desktop.inf.

Assuming the Ultrasatan is booting ok, then it sounds like you haven't got desktop.inf present on your disk when it boots.

Boot to 1.62 and add the icons you need then save the desktop to the Ultrasatan. You hopefully now have both desktop.inf and newdesk.inf and should be able to work in either version of TOS.

You can add them manually via the options menu. Click on any drive icon so it is highlighted black, then the option to install disk drive becomes live.

Now it all comes back together - just didn't play with my STts for a long time now.
