Ok, so my cousin works in a CB radio shop in London.
His boss bought these machines as part of a larger purchase of other equipment and my cousin then sold them to me.
- Spectrum 128k (toastrack) boxed SOLD
- Acorn Electron boxed SOLD
- Commodore 64C Light fantastic pack boxed
- Cassette player boxed £10
I have not had time to unpack the machines and test properly, but by the initial photos he sent me, they seem to have been very well looked after and in exceptional condition; almost 'as new':
It may be quite a few days before I can unpack them properly to test and take more photos, but that's enough time to think about if you want to buy them. :)
Providing all is well with the machines, I will be open to reasonable offers.
More info as soon as I can get to them...

I know this is a slow process, but here is the C64C bundle unpacking:
The outer box was in generally very good condition, with only the top slips, a tear and a mark from some brown tape being the main indication of any sort of wear:
Its only when I opened the outer box that the condition became shockingly good:
I must confess, this machine is in far too good a condition for me!
The pristine condition of the polys, the still straight and stiff outer sleeve cardboard and the actual casing plastic still having that new smell. There's also a pristine set of 3D glasses and two of the cassettes in the pack are still in sellophane unopened! Unbelievable. :dizzy:
This is honestly as close to new I have come to a C64 since my breadbin on my 13th birthday. It would make a lovely machine for a collector.
I'm almost too scared to touch it. :)

The Boots cassette recorder and packaging is also in a very good condition:

The cassette recorder is interesting to me. It looks "new, old stock" and never been opened. Well, other than the tape in the machine.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Ha ha, we had that recorder for our Spectrum+. A trusty unit.stephen_usher wrote: 29 May 2023 21:05 The cassette recorder is interesting to me. It looks "new, old stock" and never been opened. Well, other than the tape in the machine.
@mrbombermillzy - not sure I would be brave enough to plug in that original C64 PSU. You know about issues with the 5V line?
I've 'grafted on' a Sony PSP 5V PSU to my 5V line.

Nope. I'm not brave enough. Not at the moment anyway. I've got a trusty old ATX PSU + breakout leads that I last used as a makeshift Falcon030 PSU, which I can tap the 5v on to provide power.Higgy wrote: 29 May 2023 21:51 @mrbombermillzy - not sure I would be brave enough to plug in that original C64 PSU. The machine will be silent though, as there is no power to the SID then. :(
Alternatively, (and probably a better solution) I'll shell out for one of the new C64 supplies, seeing as this is such a nice package.
Anyway, moving on for now....

Here's the Zx Spectrum 128 pictures:
Whilst not as pristine as the C64C pack, this is still in a pretty good shape. It's a shame about the outer box tears, as otherwise it's in very good condition. Obviously there are bits missing from inside (i.e. owners manual, RF lead), but otherwise it's in great shape and works.
