I know I'm going to kick the cat here but for me, those plates will
*never* be broken until I actually open the door. The "potential"
for them to be broken exists in my mind, but the actuality of it
doesn't.

Reminds me of my plates during the 2011 year earthquake here...
I managed to save them all after I opened the door.
Even my printer was hanging in the air (thanks to its USB cable) and had nothing but a scratch.
