Hi,
is there a way to play CD32 games on Amiga 4000? The best from a virtual drive and CF card (BIN/CUE files) and mainly games with CD-DA tracks using of some IDE-fix '97 (a CD32 Emulator/ utility)? It seems there is a lot of issues in the way:
- Amiga 4000 has no Akiko chip for best compatibilty with CD32 probably for "hard coded" CD32 games
- Paula chip is not powerful to play both SFX + CD-DA tracks at once and it is "only" 24kHz while CD-DA tracks are at 44.1kHz
- there could be a higher requirements on a CPU speed and probably more RAM
Maybe the best way (instead of an emulator) could be using of a real CD drive. But for hearing of CD-DA tracks there will need to mix Paula's and CD's output together the best with a volume control of each output.
Or does exist and ODE for Amiga?
Or is there a possibility to add an SPDIF or I2S header for CD-DA for example on some incoming TF card? TF card could be powerful enough for the CD-DA job.
Thank you for some experiences.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

There is allegedly some CD32 Emu software in IDEFix97 (on aminet) i think you need IDEFix97 though.Rabanik wrote: 07 May 2023 12:05 Hi,

Of course games that need Akkiko will not work

Is there a list of games which work only with Akkiko chip?
And what about of CD-DA? Is there a possibility to add an SPDIF header on some acceleraror board for CD-DA output? It could be theoretically possible with WHDload.
And when I ask thisway. I have CD32 and want to play CD32 games with CD-DA without of use of its real CD drive. Is that somehow possible?
Or does exist an ODE for CD32? Or can I replace CD drive with usual IDE CD drive? Does exist some controller/adapter?

There is CD32 version of WHDLoad. That might be your best bet.Rabanik wrote: 07 May 2023 14:43 Is there a list of games which work only with Akkiko chip?

There isnt an IDE alternative for the CD32 yet (that i am aware of anyways). I dont know about software emulation of CDDAAnd when I ask thisway. I have CD32 and want to play CD32 games with CD-DA without of use of its real CD drive. Is that somehow possible?

Thank you for the answer.
And is there a possibility to add on some incoming Terrible Fire boards an SPDIF or I2S header for CD-DA? If on this board has an IDE controller for CF/SD cards it could also work as a emulated CD drive. At least for CD-DA. If some free resources are still the CPLD it could be possible. A combination of WHDLoad & TF would be solve the problem with missing CD-DA output.
