Interesting concept from Yodel

Post by rubber_jonnie »

So I looked at the tracking for an inbound parcel and came across something I'd never noticed before. It doesn't mean to say it wasn't there before, just that I'd never noticed it.

This is the image from their website:

It's clearly contradictory as it shows 4 more stops before me, but I don't live in that area, so clearly it means 4 more stops before my parcel is picked up from the depot.

Anybody else seen this before? First time I've seen it on Yodel.

Odd. I think half of the time the tracking information isn't updated properly. As it is on its way, then I presume you should get it within a hour kind of thing. I presume they haven't marked it as "out for delivery". I assume someone screwed up somewhere.

Yeah, very strange. Apparently I'm the next stop, and the page still shows it as at the depot, so fingers crossed I'll know what is actually going on soon.

It's obviously 4 stops away from the ditch the Yodel driver usually dumps the parcels in.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

If at this point I thought the Yodel driver actually had my parcel, I'd very likely agree with you!!!

However the map has now disappeared and it seems it is just waiting for pickup at the place the sender dropped it off at. Unless the store they dropped it off at has thrown it in the dumpster out back...

:shock: I know I have a crazy stuff like this happen but cannot remember which courier.

It's like it was supposed to have got loaded into the van for delivery but they forgot to actually put it on the van or scan it so it is not actually on the van for the driver to deliver it, Even though he seems to have got on to his roots somehow like it was supposed to have been loaded. That sounds like conclusions I have come to before.... Then late at night the thing actually turns up anyway :lol:

So it would seem the "out for delivery" bit seems to be the one telling the truth then.

Yeah, it's very peculiar. Now just says it's in store awaiting collection, so lord knows what the whole thing with the van was saying.
