my name is Rüdiger and I'm living in germany in a small village near Bielefeld.
I'm into retro since it wasn't even retro: my first Atari is a 260ST and I bought it shiny new in 1987 :D
At that time I had to choose between i86 (8MHz), a Casio FP1000 (Z80, 4MHZ, CP/M) and an Atari.
We used these Casios at school - but they were damn slow and had 64KByte ... pfff
So I bought an Atari 260ST which got instant upgrades:
- from TOS on disk to TOS 1.02 on ROM
- 1 MByte RAM
- SF314 floppy
Even at university I used that Atari: as a student of computer science I had absolutely no money for a fancy TT/Falcon/i386/i486...
In the mid-90s I was drawn to the "dark side" an bought (for work ;) ) an i386 & i486 - but since a couple of years I got back to the 16bit-era and bought some Ataris and Amigas.
I have fun to keep them alive (or bring back to life ;) ) and sometimes pimping and upgrading them to the "max".
But my first machine is in "original condition" from 1987...
So - thanks for having me here!
