[Video] STE Dualtos: building a board and making the ROM.

Post by Badwolf »

Evening all.

I've not been about much on account of a recent domestic development[1].

But spurred on by @arti040 sending me some EPROMs for burning, I decided it's time to put together my Exxos STE Dualtos board.

Drama! Twists! Nearly an hour of waffle! What's not to like?

Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.

Huh, looks like I gave you a job but at least some very interesting tutorial was created on the fly. :-)

Cheers all,

I failed to mention in the video that these dualtos boards are intended to be used with the one-time-programmable 'modern' EPROMs which have a much faster access time. This isn't a problem in my use case, but if these are paired with an Exxos booster that assumes fast ROM and doesn't slow down on ROM access, using these old HN27C4096s won't cut it.
