Dug a Nova adapter and cards out of the pile to put into a TT. Not having much success. Would anyone know if either of these cards are compatible? Thanks....

Re: Nova compatible boards
All you can do is compare the DACs so the photos on Idek's website. The drivers are written for the DAC.

The card with the AT&T DAC should by to the T8 Nova Driver right. The other try the T0, 2,3,4,6,8 ...
Boot order is 1. emulator.prg, 2. menu.prg, 3. sta_vdi.prg and the two bib files (delete menu.inf) ...
Jumper setting on the adapter is MSTE ...

Re: Nova compatible boards
I purchased the board over five years ago so I am not sure of the GAL. If anyone has the JED file, I can reflash. The jumper is set to 1-2 for the TT. I do not currently have EmuTOs on a set of chips, but this is probably a good time to do it. I installed #8 drivers last night. Emulator set 2 bombs, Menu seemed to work, then Sta_vdi set off 6-8 bombs and locked the system. I'll need to check it again tonight to be more precise.

Re: Nova compatible boards
The ET4 GAL is right. When you use the OGFA GAL you have to patch the Adapter Board ...
https://wiki.newtosworld.de/index.php?t ... VME_Karten
The VME Adapter is a unpatched one I think. Check it ...
Change OFGA GAL on the Nova VME ISA adapter
Disconnect VME row A Pin18 (AS).
VME row A pin20 (IACK) to GAL pin13
VME Row A Pin23 (AM4) to GAL Pin23
Jumper Set to TT is wrong. It must be set to MSTE (2-3) The set TT is for ATI MACH64 only. Emulator Programm must be work first.

Re: Nova compatible boards
Frank already mentioned the most important detail: for an ET4000, the jumper needs to be in the MSTE setting even on a TT.
As for EmuTOS: you don't need to program it into EPROMs necessarily. There is a .prg version, which includes Nova support, too: https://sourceforge.net/projects/emutos ... snapshots/

Re: Nova compatible boards
As I can see, the two ribbon board connectors are unsoldered. Doesn't the whole thing fit into the VME slot anymore?
The round cables can cause problems, not because of the length.

Re: Nova compatible boards
The cables are plugged in. The board just makes it into the slot. Bit of a bear to remove however....I'll make the suggested changes this weekend and report back. Thanks!

Re: Nova compatible boards
Just a quick update... I updated the board as directed and reflashed the GAL to OGFA, moved the jumper to MSTE setting, and loaded up the #01 driver package for the board with the TR9C1710 DAC. The system throws a bus error (2 bombs) when it trys to load emulator.prg. Same results in two different TTs. I then burned EmuTOS onto some eproms. I get no response from the card whatsoever. When I try to run Emulator.prg from EmuTOS I get the following error detail. I believe that the video card may be the problem. I found another one on Ebay with the same DAC. It should be here by Sat.
