Atari 520ST first model, stolen or lost during shipping

Hello,

I recently bought an Atari 520 ST "first model" (or "short model" the one without floppy disk drive).

After a quite long duration for the shipping (3 substitutions of pickup locations by the shipping company), I ended up with a small box full of cosmetics products. Looking through the stack of stickers, I can believe that the seller has really sent the computer.

Anyway, if an ad to sell this kind of model appear soon from a French vendor, there is a chance that it is a stolen good.

It's quite a distinctive system, so it should pop up sooner or later somewhere.

So sorry to hear. Did you have postage insurance on the item? What has the shipping company said as judging by your comments it looks like it disappeared during shipping.

@Icky I hope the seller did pay the insurance. Normally, as a buyer, I should be covered, but we never know. I thought I did post a message to them, but I just noticed that I did not get an automated acknowledgement of my message, will have to redo that.

As a final note : the transporter (Mondial relay) could only confirm the loss of the original parcel. I followed the ebay procedure and got a refund from ebay.
