The reason I ask is because my intent is to desolder the 8 RAM chips chips in order to make four 4MB 30pin SIMMs (2 RAM chips on each 4MB SIMM) which will then be compatible with vintage Macs. I have the bare PCBs for that purpose, in fact. But some RAM chips on 16MB 72pin SIMMs are physically wider than others and may prove very difficult to solder. That's why knowing the chip part numbers before I buy will be extremely helpful.
For example, these 4Mx4 RAM chip part numbers are all confirmed compatible for my intended application:
- 71C17400 (GoldStar GM)
- 5117400 (Hitachi HIT, OKI M)
- 4F160411 (Samsung K)
- *44C4100 (Samsung KM)
- 417400 (Mitsubishi M5M)
- 517400 (Motorola MCM )
- 417409 (Mitsubishi M5M)
