Hello,
I´m Sascha from Hamburg, but grew up in Cologne, where I got my Atari VCS 2600 when I was like 7 or so (memory tricks me here). Actually got an 800 XL in 82/83 (literally fell off a truck) and when everybody went 16 Bit, I got all the C64s, CPCs etc. from my friends. And kept them. In the early 90s I got some Mega STs from an agency, that switched to Macs. Even buying my first 386-DX40 in 91 (only because Wing Commander was too slow on the A500) I was using the Mega ST4 with SLM804 for all my tasks (education, correspondence etc.) until 1999. Then I came back from a German army mission and had enough money to buy an iMac. Since then Macs are my working machines, nut actually deal a lot with Windows and Linux, too. Every task has its tool.
Of course also got all the consoles and still love my Lynx (meanwhile all of them with new LCD screen, of course) and the Jaguar, and if it is for Tempest 2000 only. ;) Can´t list all my machines here, but my focus still is, and always will be, the Atari 8Bits.
But for whatever reason the 16Bit-corner in my appartment grew and so my main 16Bit is a MegaSTE with Ultra Satan.
Currently on the bench for upgrade and repair are a Falcon 030 without case and keyboard (but fully working). It was built into a 19" rack for music, and I´ll keep it that way, as I also still have some MIDI-gear like Casio FZ-1 and all the Cubases. :) But the Falcon needs some Video adaptors, more RAM (has 4MB now), IDE-Drive etc.
Next on the bench will be my two TTs. Both are working fine, but need modern mass storage. Especially number 2, as the original HDD just died at SillyVenture 22SE.
Enough for now. Happy holidays and lots of shopping in January. ;)
