E-Wave wave blaster add-on for your H5 etc..

Post by PhilC »

Evening all.

Just a quick and I do mean quick review of my latest purchase ( or one of them anyway).

I recently ordered myself yet another wave blaster board from Serdashop (I think this is the 6th one!). I actually ordered the X2GS and the E-Wave bundle. I'm not going to say much about the X2GS other than it is absolutely bl**dy great and reminds me so much of my old Roland SC-55 that I had back in the day.

Instead I'm going to mention the the E-Wave board which is based on the ESS ES692 sound chip.

Ok, so let's be up front an honest, it's not going to win any prizes for quality but if you can't quite afford an X2GS or want something much better than an S2 then I would highly recommend this board. The drum sounds are actually pretty good (in my opinion). The strings and pads are definitely mid 90s sounding but all sound pretty nice, especially if like me you're into your C64 music and similar. It actually plays a midi version of my fave C64 tune Sanxion loading music pretty well. Other things, well, maybe not so much

Its definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for a wave blaster board.

Wondering if anyone has tried the QWave boards yet?

Anyway, here's the link if you want to have a look etc

You’re presuming I know how

You’d get dizzy from all the camera shake but will try shortly
