Terriblefire timing

Post by thecaver99 »

I have read and understand the terrible fire 12xx have issues with long ide cables.

This may be a daft question but what is the issues and is there anyway to get around these issues.

I know the retor accelerator cards didn't have any issues with the ide as I first had a power computing 1208 8mb card and upgraded to the blizzard 1230 with scsi then the blizzard ppc 603 and had the 1200 in an power tower with power flyer and mediator.

Just trying to understand is this just an issue with the tf on board ide or the actual 12xx cards.

I have the ka dual socket ide adapter. And a 4xide'99 and a power flyer ii gold.

In the 1200 I have ks3.2 custim rom with ehide.device built in to boot from the tf ide which has a 44 pin cf adapter on it.

Will the 1200 timing fix help in any way as I've not looked in to this a I have a 1d4 rev 1 board.

By no means is the post any criticism of the tf card as I really do like the card.
