no not really, been trying to get a cd rom to work on the internal ide port and the system locks up a lot but if i remove the tf1230 and just have my 8mb ram not a single lockup

The 1230 is extremely sensitive to IDE cable length, so if you are going to have a long cable you will need a buffered IDE on the motherboard.

Yeah no amount of firmware tweaks is gonna fix that unfortunately.

I have tried with the 30cm 44 pin cable no go at all
I tried with cd only on a short cable worked.
I tried the dual 2.6 and 3.5 with sd card no go
I've now tried with a 2 buffered 4 way ide and I can get some joy but have to reboot 3 times before it becomes stable enough
