Does anyone know of any way of doing this either online or with free software or in PowerPoint 2007 ?
Searching for " tile images" or related does not really return expected results
I want to do is take like 6 images and tile them to fill up a A4 sheet. I have been looking on and off for months and I just cannot find any way of doing this automatically ?!
Tiling images on a A4 sheet ?

Not sure but I think I used to use paint shop Pro for this sort of thing.
Might have been a version on a cover CD back in the noughties (or even the 90s) but not likely to find that quickly (if at all...moved house a couple of times since then) :(

You might also be able to use your office suite of choice to make a document with n pages of whatever you want, and then use a tiling option when you print, to print n-up on a single page. It's not the most elegant solution, but depending on what you've got to play with, might be the easiest.

I've found in powerpoint there are align options but its very difficult to understand as it says align vertically or horizontally then puts them all diagonally down the page

In case it was unclear what I was describing, here's what is in the LibreOffice print dialog (Mac version):
And when I make a document with six copies of Dear Leader's avatar, the print preview shows this:
Again, maybe not the most elegant solution, but it's pretty quick, with existing software. The downside here is I have to make six copies of the logo in the original document, on six pages, and then tell it to print six on one. It doesn't seem to be able to easily duplicate a single page for n-up printing. This is probably fine for a one-off need, but I wouldn't do it this way if I had to do this often.

What I did was to load 6 images, use the "tile" function to align them. Then manually copy/paste multiple lines which "snap to grid".
