Hello Everyone!
I am in the State of North Carolina, United States. I got into the Atari ST in the early 1980s after being introduced to the ST by a friend while living in Hawaii, where I purchased a new Mega ST2. I continued to use the Mega ST2 until the early 90’s due to work requirements, while living in Alaska. I then transitioned back to the Macintosh and the PC.
A few years after I returned to North Carolina to live permanently in the late 90’s, I became I was a certified Apple Technician as well as for the PC. While I sold and serviced Macintosh and PC computers, I purchased an Atari 1040 STFm on eBay and got back into the Atari ST as well. It wasn’t until I retired that I had more time to devote to the Atari ST. I recently purchased an Atari Mega STE, as my 1040 STFM needs some work. I enjoy the challenge of determining the problem and then solve/fix the problem.
My goal now is to become more proficient at servicing and repairing my Atari ST’s. Also, I am beginning to undertake the challenge of learning to program for the ST using GFA BASIC. I have been wanting to learn to use GFA BASIC for a long time, but now I have more time, so I am jumping into the deep end, so to speak.
I still repair Macintosh and PC computers part-time, but now I am working to learn to repair and maintain my ST’s as well. I really now, since it appears there are not any Atari ST service centers. I am trying to accumulate as much technical date and diagnostic tools as possible to achieve the goal being able repair all of my computers.
Well, I am sure you are already know more about me than you would ever want to know, right? I am glad to be here!
