ST RGB to PC screen capture cards ?

Post by exxos »

I think I had a USB contraption which never worked at one point. But anyway, as anyone have any suggestions for a simple solution of connecting my RGB (ST) to my PC so I can have the Atari screen as a window on my PC ?

With the rise in electric costs, my small TV is 50watts which is generally running all day every day. So if I can just dump that capture onto my PC monitor, then savings would add up over time.

I have an unholy combination of a SCART to HDMI adapter and then an HDMI capture box.

It's not much good for general use (the lag is several tenths of a second, I'd estimate), but it's fine for testing and recording.

My really cheap HDMI capture dongle thing (£8 Amazon) doesn't work with this combo, but this box does and the passthrough is good if you do want to fire up an actual monitor whilst having the capture option too.

I've ordered the Medusa. I will then use my existing HDMI-to-USB capture device(s) with it.

I do believe it will take a lot of time for you to save the same amount on electricity costs :P

Maybe find a monitor which accepts 15khz RGB input and PIP? (e.g. Dell do some 24-27" screens that can do this, I'm pretty sure)
