DSTB1 exxos first tests & experimental firmware.

Post by exxos »

Received my engineering sample courtesy of @Badwolf :D

Not much to look at here.. Frankly too lazy to remove the CPU again and spend the next five hours refitting it just to take an image

"out of the box" first run with EMUTOS:

There does seem to be a odd "reset" problem somewhere along the line. In that sometimes you have to press the reset button several times to get it to boot. I do not think it is the H5 as it works fine with the CPU directly on the motherboard.

But otherwise so far so good

I love it when a plan comes together. (need a cigar emoji :P )

If you can swing TOS2.06 decoding, ALTROM time!

BW

PS: incidentally, pretty trivial to put a 2.06 decoder on one of the test points, now I think about it.
DFB1 Open source 50MHz 030 and TT-RAM accelerator for the Falcon
Smalliermouse ST-optimised USB mouse adapter based on SmallyMouse2
FrontBench The Frontier: Elite 2 intro as a benchmark

Next job then ;)

Easy to hookup on a H5 :)

Actually, just noticed: there’s no AltRAM in that benchmark. EmuTOS ought to pick it up automatically, but I guess it’s not in the 192k version.

PRG EmuTOS should work, though, and get you much better figures.

*cough* Then, of course, FrontBench will look good.

Ah, ok, sure. Wasn't clear. I don't think the 192k ROM version supports AltRAM at all.

PRG version found 8MB..

Testing GB6.. I think it passed all tests but crashed on the final alt-ram test...

Thing something has slowly died because it crashed while loading the benchmark reference file just.I am not sure how good the CPU is though..
