TF1230

Post by thecaver99 »

might be a daft question but how do i find my serial number for the tf1230 and see if there has been any update to the firmware?

i don't have any fleshing hardware/software as yet but will pick some up to keep the card upto date.

There is no software control or serial numbers in the TF1230. Its considerably simpler than the 1260.

thanks that makes things a little easier,

how can we tell what the firmware is on the 1230, is there anywhere that has the latest updated to download so can be flashed to update the TF1230

The only way to know is to ask your builder what they flashed it with.

Hi all. Newbie question. I just bought a bog standard A1200 from ebay. Workbench 3.0 and KS 3.0.
I looked into upgrading it and have bought a TF1230 accelerator card. It has 128mb fast ram. A modified kickstart ks3.1, and an RTC. I'm not sure but does the modified ks3.1 rom mean I don't need to buy a set of 3.1 rom chips?
Thankyou for your help in advance.

Need to check. You say you have KS3.0 and KS3.1. Which one do you have? Without knowing more about what the modifications are its hard to know if you need a new rom set.

Thanks for your reply. I have ks3.0 on my MB. The TF1230 comes with a modified ks3.1. I realise I need to install workbench 3.1. But I don't know if I need new 3.1 chips on my MB for the card to work or can I just boot up straight from the card controller?
I looked for support on the amigastore.eu website but the link is dead.

The card will start with all these roms but...

KS3.0 will not find your fastmem. If you insist on using it you will need to manually add the fastram with the addmem command.

http://aminet.net/util/cli/AddMem.lha

A plain KS3.1 is fine but there will be no support for the TF1230 IDE interface at boot.

So basically use the roms that came with the card. It will give you the best support.
