What is Epson SMD 480 drive? 360k or 720k?

My 520 is fitted with an Eson SMD480 floppy drive is this the single sided or the double sided version. Other than saying that they are used in some Ataris I cann't find any technical details on the drive. I presume that it was an OEM variant produced for Atari.

Please advise / ideally provide URL to technical documentation.

As a general rule, if it is the long button type, then chances are could be a single sided drive. If it is the short button drive , then ( to my knowledge) there hasn't been any single sided versions.

You can always just simply check, shine a torch through the floppy flap and see if it has two heads or not. Really you should remove the cover and clean the heads anyway.
