Hi all.
I am a bit in a problem regarding a TF-1230 accelerator. I seem to have ripped off the C29 component on the backside of the card, when I closed the trapdoor cover. I have saved the component it self, and have both that and the card in a bag as of now.
As I can not solder any SMD components, then I first have to ask what the component does? If it is a part of the IDE interface, then I can live without using that, however if it is a part of something else, then I will have to find someone inside of the EU that can fix my card. (pesky fee's even charged on stuff you personally own now when stuff are going through customs)
I have no idea how I managed to rip this component off. I have inserted the card without any trapdoor cover, only closing the cover when the card was installed. But I guess I have done something completely stupid.

Thanks. So it is power-in related then? Yeah, it should not pose any serious issues then, as far as I understand basic electronics.
But if there will be any issues, would it then be something like unstable memory resulting in yellow screen or something like that?

Actually that one is on the 5V rail away from any 5V components. Its not even a decoupling cap its a general smoothing cap. Its highly unlikely to cause any issues. Basically if I run with my MeanWell RT-65b modded Amiga power brick, then the power source is smooth enough, that this cap missing will not be a serious issue? In other words, it is there just in case you have a lesser stable (or more "dirty") power source.

Thanks.... :-) Now I am a bit more calm. But I must say that I am still feeling a bit like an idiot, not holding up the card when closing the trapdoor lid.
