CDTV TF536 Case Closed

Post by dalek »

Finally all the pieces have come together for me and I was able to close the case on the CDTV and have a fully functioning TF536 and CD-ROM drive that still works!

case_closed.jpg

I needed a few things - the patched CDTV ROM from CDTV Land and the firmware from terriblefire that disables the boot flashy rom.

Also a heavily modified sandwich with the CPU soldered directly to the TF536 and the TF536 soldered directly to the relocator.

More details here.

I'm pretty sure that the new extended ROM has been organised so it works with the old TF536 FW if anyone can't upgrade theirs

Really glad this is sorted. I should build a 536 for my CDTV

Hi @dalek if you have any spare PCBs from this project would be happy to purchase one from you :?: Just ordered @go0se re-locator from JLCPCB and then remembered this thread. Have some spare 27C400s lying about so I thought this would be an interesting solution to try. :)
