I have an issue on one of my STFM's I've been tracking down.
Basically, the 2 HD74LS244P chips are showing signs that they could have overheated, their surface is gloss instead of the usual matte.
I don't see the same chip in the store.
Can i assume that the 74LS244N 3 STATE BUFFER DRIVER will do the same, or am i looking at the wrong chip?
any help would be appreciated.
Also, EXXOS, have you thought of doing a recap kit for the ST motherboard?
Can all registered uses please login, even just for a few minutes..
It helps build a picture where our "good traffic" is coming from..
Thanks :)

It has been mentioned many times. Aside from lack of time and space, I would not blatantly replace capacitors unless I have specifically tested the circuit which I am replacing them in to make sure nothing will malfunction. Which is actually a phenomenal amount of work. So it would unlikely ever get done. There are recap kits for the PSU and STFM video circuit as they are known to go bad.RetroTechRalph wrote: Tue Dec 28, 2021 10:54 pm Also, EXXOS, have you thought of doing a recap kit for the ST motherboard?
