Atari 8 Bit - Prince of Persia just released!

Post by rubber_jonnie »

I've been following a bit of a story regarding Prince of Persia for the Atari 8 bit series, since it was never released back in the day, but some bright fellows have resolved that and it's available for download here: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/29891 ... or-the-a8/

So I downloaded and dropped the files over onto my SIDE3 and it is a very impressive port, though you'll need 128K or more to run it.

Here's some screenshots:

Sorry for the slight fuzziness, minor camera problem!!

Overall it is super smooth and superbly animated, and as bloody hard as I remember from times I tried it on other platforms back in the day.

If you're a fan of PoP, and a fan of the Atari 8 bit range of computers, you need to download this now :)

This looks great. Unfortunately for me 128k required. My 600XL was modified a long time ago with 64k which is at least better than the stock 16k (and I love the form factor!) but I really need to look into more RAM for this machine at some point. Always in need of more RAM....story of my life.
