Discontinued items in 2021

Post by exxos »

BLiTTER IC[0002]
I have been unable to find a source for these for some time. I can only obtain them from scrapping STE machines , which is not often.

STE/MEGA ST MC68000FN8 CPU[0079]
I have no plans currently to restock this item as they are more expensive to obtain than the HC version.

STE 32MHz BOOSTER V1[0147]
There are currently no plans to build another batch of the solder-in version.

PeST PS2 to ST MOUSE INTERFACE[0109]
I do plan to make a small batch of 10 at some point, but because of so much competition with mouse interfaces it is not high up on my to do list currently. So currently assume they will be no other ones made.

FALCON PSU CONNECTOR
As the current supplier was already expensive, and now they pretty much double the price, Its just not feasible to get another batch of them done. I'm not charging £14 for a cable and not paying almost that per cable either! While I can source them much cheaper from China, I would need to do a 1,000 min batch. As such , I just don't think that many will ever sell. So I doubt these will return to stock until I can find a suitable supplier.

VARIOUS PLCC ROMs

TOS 102/104 ROMs are being discontinued in favour for the TOS104/206 ROMs. It's mainly because the ROM chips have greatly increased in price lately, but also as are not very popular either.

Some ROM prices may be listed in the store higher price than others, this is because I am only increasing the price when I start a new batch. I find this fairer than ramping the price on every chip all at once as I didn't pay more for those chips.

Prices and availability will likely be suffering over the next year because of parts shortages. I am trying to find the best deals on parts to keep the prices around what they are all now, but this is taking a incredible amount of time lately.

The last batch of 49 Falcon Simm adapter memory boards is now completed.

I think with so many people doing such boards now and there not been a huge amount of falcons out there, it has just reduced the sales to the point it is not worth making them any more :(. It is a sad fact that competition in Atari land really is not a good thing. But as these use 3M branded SIMM sockets, they're not exactly going down in price either. So future batches would subsequently become more and more expensive to produce.

I do have 21 boards which are made up excluding the SIMM socket if anyone is interested in buying them "as is" as a job lot.

Sales have dropped of these to the point it is not worth stocking them any more. But since I purchased these, The prices seem to be going up a lot to buy them. Plus these days there are a lot more import charges etc Likely the sale price would have to go up and I would have to buy cables in a bulk lot again. Overall does not really matter since only 2 have sold over the past year I think.

The alternative is the port saver extensions which are very similar But a lot shorter.
