Work needed in falcon

Post by alienkidmj12 »

I'm looking to have some work done on my falcon
  1. Recap
  2. Floppy connector added, previous one already removed.
  3. Track straightened up underneath floppy connector. Yes it looks wonky, but not snapped. I think easy but don't have tools.
  4. General health check and pcb cleanup if needed.
  5. New speaker connector, it's a bit melted.
There shouldn't be any other issues on board as I know it plays demos and games etc. I heard someone called Steve in UK does this, but I don't know how to contact him.

Thanks

Dave

Very unspecific (how many Steves are there who do Atari repairs I wonder?) but like derkom suggested it may well be Steve here (solidstatesociety).

I am also waiting for some F030 repairs from him. :D

Sorry guys I'm currently taking a break from repairs. I put a message on my website. I will let you know when I am back.

Most of what you're after isn't really specialist, unless you actually have a problem that needs diagnosing... in which case do not let someone unknowledgeable poke about.
If you knew someone skilled enough, with the right equipment (that you could trust with a valuable machine) then it's fairly simple but time consuming work.
I did a Full recap, replaced the RTC, and clock patch on my Falcon last year and didn't run into any issues (there's a thread here somewhere), and no I'm not offering my services :P just saying anyone with experience of working on older machines with propper rework kit wouldn't be phased.
