Pretty proud to say that his afternoon my 9 years old daughter fully recapped an STF PSU using Exxos kit.
She did everything by herself, opening the ST, disassemble the PSU, removed old components with the iron and solder wick and soldered the new ones wih proper flux and solder.
The only thing I did was the testing with a dummy load as I don’t want her hands anywhere near bare 240v connections.
The PSU is working well with a steady 5.10v.

So, 25-30 years from now when this PSU will need another recap and I won’t be able to do it, someone will take care of it for me :D
Retro stuff
520 STF/ 1040 STE / Mega ST / 2 Mega STE / 2 H5
2 x 600XL with U1MB /SOFIA 2/ AVG CART / and a few 1050
Apple //c, Commodore 128, Mac Classic, SE/30, LC, IIvi and PB G3 (Clamshell)
Amiga 600 and a few 486 and 386.
Many Nintendo G&W and other electronic games from the late 70s/early 80s.

Wow that's amazing, I can't get any of my nephews interested in electronics, they just want their xbox!

@olivier.jan That's fantastic...let's hope you can train her up to assemble lots more retro kit over the coming months...

My daughter showed me the kits she'd built up for some of her GCSE work...standard fare but at least she has soldered & tested them...and even helped her teacher diagnose the faulty IC in one of the kits!

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Collector of many retro things!
800XL and 65XE both with Ultimate1MB,VBXL/XE & PokeyMax, SIDE3, SDrive Max, 2x 1010 cassette, 2x 1050 one with Happy mod, 3x 2600 Jr, 7800 and Lynx II
Approx 20 STs, including a 520 STM, 520 STFMs, 3x Mega ST, MSTE & 2x 32 Mhz boosted STEs
Plus the rest, totalling around 50 machines including a QL, 3x BBC Model B, Electron, Spectrums, ZX81 etc...

Nice work mystifying youngsters in the Atari ST family and the magic world of electronics :)
