Flashy clock buyers interests

Thought I would throw this out there to see how many people are currently interested or wanting a flashy clock before I spend time building them up. I will likely offer two different versions, one with and without alt-ram as they chips are expensive and not everybody may want the RAM. I'm afraid I currently don't know a price point for these yet as I have not priced up the parts for time involved in building them. Probably around £70-£100 depending on alt-ram.

Also note these are primarily for use on the H5's as they are 3.3V. @Icky is working on a adapter board to use on the original machines but this will come later will also need a new circuit to retrofit on original machines. Retrofitting will be a lot more expensive as it will require 2 other addon boards.

For those who do not know what flashy clock is.. It has 8MB alt-ram, 4x 256K flash banks, RTC. Internal TOS206 decoder.

I'm interested in both version of course, but I could take two and get the adapter board later I guess if I need it. Since I already have the previous H5 and will be getting the latest H5 as well I could have a pcb for each of them. Fully chipped thx (alt-ram).

As there is only you guys interested, do you want the bodge wire version at a discount ? I'm thinking as I have 8 boards here, there no point doing another PCB run for it.

I was also wondering if this had been tried with a TF536 or not and if anybody has a list of what programs make use of the alt ram?

My biggest interest would be for music/MIDI so Cubase/Notator/Logic plus synth librarian/editor/samplers.

It should work, but i've not tried it. It may need a firmware update to disable the onboard TF536 ROM which is easy enough. Flashy and Trudie both do decoding, but they "play nice" together and if Trudie sees flashy installed, Trudie stops decoding. I guess I could port the same over to the TF536, but going by the lack of interest in a lot of this stuff, it probably wont get done anytime soon.

Well, all the sequencers/editor/librarians etc. that I use are GEM apps (and many, if not all, of them work on the Falcon OK), so there is a fair chance they will use it.

If I had a proper working setup with the TF536 installed, I'd probably know the answer to this already... :lol: :roll:
Really annoying to have lost so much time after slipping a disc just after Christmas...still not caught up on all the previous list of jobs (retro an house-related) in 6 months... :(

The IDE boards R1C or something ? Yeah they came before Trudie, they are "stand alone" so not part of the "bigger picture".

if you have a TF536 on board, you don't need alt-ram on flashy anyway. Currently we haven't done the flashy alt-ram installer yet , so might just make these V7.0 boards without the RAM as don't know how long it will be before the installer is done. Parts shortages are really taking its toll as well. I think I only have 1 alt-ram chip for starters.
