DFB1r3 dev board demonstration video

Post by Badwolf »

Hi guys,

I put together a small demo of the DFB1 (rev3) in action as things stand.

Points to note:
  • This is not the final form factor. The idea is to fit within the case with the PSU in place.
  • Specs may change before release. There's only one working copy so far and the firmware is right on the edge of functional.
  • Release version will probably default to accelerated rather than 16MHz.
  • This version is intended for 50MHz, but will also run at 40 if the CPU can't take it.

Not yet. This is still the really beaten up but super robust first board. I just decided to try to solve a few other problems before using my last CPLD on the 'confirmation' board... with luck!

Looks great to me.

Although, wouldn't put that voice with the name Badwolf. I'd got you as more of a Brian Blessed kinda guy :D

*scribbles notes*
more... hammy... gravitas...

Got it.

Unfortunately my nasal whine is probably not quite up to Brian Blessed or Tom Baker. Joe Pesci, on the other hand... :?

Was watching the video for, I think it was the 3rd time and I can't help wondering: What would it take to accelerate the bus as well?
Will it lose the "solder-less" feature?

With bus acceleration I think the Falcon will be a whole new beloved Atari :)
