H5C1 Buyers interests

Post by exxos »

In light of all the assembly drama https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =89&t=4013 The board price will be £122 each for pre-orders (This is the part-assembled PCB and does not include postage costs). This is by far the cheapest PCB + assembly option I can find.

I have tried to do a quick sketch, maybe @Icky And do a 3-D render at some point..

The board comes with birdseed as before. Though it does also contain the otherwise missing MAX238 , RESET IC, and any other missing SMT chips ( excluding the DAC). The sockets marked in yellow will be all 3M and fitted. All jumper headers are fitted. 1 PSU Header & keyboard connector fitted. The floppy Connector is also fitted. The MFP as a PLCC socket now fitted along with the oscillator & OPTO.

What is "missing" is the rear IO connectors ( including the cartridge and midi). 68K expansion sockets. DAC, Reset switch, Master oscillator.. Hopefully also missing is the need for bodge wires but no guarantees  boards are sold "as is" untested.

Please declare your interest and how many board you are interested in, will add you to the list.. Ideally I need at least 20 people (or 20 boards) for pre-orders before the batch can be put into production.

Disclaimer - as I am using a "new"You PCB and assembly company I cannot make any guarantees as to the fitness of the soldering of this board. I think a lot of people had odd issues with the boards produced by JLC anyway.. but I am really hoping the problems will be less this time..

I'm in for 1.

I'll just have to bite the bullet on shipping. Any estimates yet for USA?

Probably around £25 going by the last H5 orders, Difficult to say without knowing the weight of the item.

Do you have an idea for shipping costs to Germany and customs?

I don't really know how EU customs will charge anymore sorry.. I would imagine both of them being around £15 each or thereabouts. As said previously I cannot say what the shipping costs are until I physically have them to weigh up properly.

I'm ready to get them done right now, I just need to collect some funds, as you can imagine this order is going to cost a few thousand which I don't exactly have laying around :) Ideally need to get at least 20 boards sold so that I can start the order process.
