Do I still Build my boards?? And which 030.

Post by wild »

Hi All,

I bought 2 TF536 in Batch 2 and in a perfect world they would be assembled by now. But due to life having other plans for me I have only now returned to the project.

With what happened while I was away (the TF536 being pirated), can I still build the boards??

Do I still have access to the firmware and other resources that I need etc etc....

I can't find a definitive yes or no and I don't want to order the parts I need if the answer is no.

If the answer is yes (god I hope it is) which model 50MHz 030 is recommended?? There are a few different models I have found. Just wondering if I should use one particular model.

And lastly is there a reliable source for 030s?? Or are we taking our chances with the Chinese sellers??

Sorry if these questions have been answered elsewhere.

Regards,
Oliver.

Hi Oliver,
Sure, You can build Your cards,
all firmwares may be found on official TerribleFire Github

Full 030 CPU with MMU support is always a better choice however EC type will work also

The github has been closed but the latest firmware can be found on the Firmware hub of this forum.

Thanks for that.

I was concerned about the firmware. Good to see it's still available. Am ordering parts now.

Still concerned about the 68030 though. Can only find parts from China. Bit concerned about the authenticity.

Don't be concerned, they are all fakes anyway

But if you buy enough from different sources eventually you'll stumble into one that works.
