4MB Upgrade Help Appreciated - SMT MMU

Post by 1040STfit »

Hell, I'm almost finished with this on my 1040STf and I wanted to make sure I'm doing a couple things correctly...

I have a later motherboard revision C070859-001. It has a soldered in MMU.

So I'm just going to run a wire as I've drawn in my pic? Going from the RAM module to that point there on the resistor that leads to pin 64 on the MMU? Just wanted to double check my work with you guys so I don't fry something.

Lastly, when installing a 1MB/4MB toggle switch, the center pin on the toggle will be to ground and either side of that will be the 1MB/4MB connection points? Elementary, I know but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for the help!

SMT GLUE is pin 66 (PLCC68 pin 64)

No.. You just use a middle and 1 outer pin on the switch.. as it says on the PCB, Linked gives you 4MB, so "not linked" is 1MB. All it does is to switch in/out MAD9.

Also please note linking to external sites isn't allowed. I have corrected your post, but please see this topic for information on how to attach images thanks :)

Can I just solder to pin 66? I was excited to get this done tonight and SMT Glue is going to have me waiting a week for delivery!
