Hi all,
It may be a dum question but I have a short time to figure it out. I have a midi sequencer (arturia keystep), 1 midi cable and an atari st. I want just to use the arturia sequencer to play and listen the notes from the atari. It is for my daughter school project. Is it possible? If so, what would be the easiest software to use? Thanks!

how can i have the notes of a sequencer payed by YM2149F

I'm not sure I follow... Sure you can use midi software to play notes on external midi equipment.. but this has nothing to do with the YM chip... Music is done with chip music sequencers on the Atari itself.. AFAIK you can't mix 2 audio systems like that, not without custom software which I doubt exists..

It seems maxymizer would be the answer to your question

I was sure there were tools to convert STSound (a recording stream of YM registers) into MIDI to play on a PC but i can't find them today. I had conversions of lots of mad max Thalion songs, too many and too accurate tempo to have been converted by hand.
But did you want to use the ST as a Midi instrument? MaxYMiser is the only program I've heard of to do that as has already been mentioned

thank you thank you thank you!!!
this maxYMiser was exactly what i was looking for. I haven't manage to get the communication of my arturia w the atari but that is in the tutorial4. But the YM synthesis is soooo amasing! I made a arduino mkr/AY3910 but i think i needed to study the AY3819 but i am hooked in the simplicity and flexibility of maxYMiser
