It is with much sadness that I've decided to sell my Atari Falcon 030, a computer I've owned for 26yrs!
Its in mint condition and includes lots of software.
Atari Falcon 030, 4MB Memory, 4GB SSD, TOS 4.01 + FPU, Mouse + Joystick, lots of software!
This Atari Falcon has had 1 careful owner and was bought new in the UK, it's now in Sydney AU. It has been stored carefully in a plastic storage box in the loft away from any damp. There are no scratches on the outer case anywhere, and the keyboard keys are all 100% visible (no wear). I'm selling it because it doesn't get used any more, and it deserves someone who will use it more often.
The bundle includes the original floppy disk drive (doesn't seem to work, probably just needs the heads cleaning), a replacement floppy drive (which does read disks) purchased early 2020 from https://exxosforum.co.uk/ and a GoTek drive, which is currently installed in the Falcon. I've also included a VGA adapter so you can use it with a monitor, it also include the original RF cable if you want to connect it to a TV.
I recently replaced the original internal fan with a Noctua fan, which coupled with the 4GB SSD means the Atari runs almost completely silent...waaaaay less noisy that the original HDD and fan.
I've included photos of all the software, a lot of which is also pre-installed on the SSD so you can get up and running immediately. Some of this software you can't even find online in the Atari archive sites. It currently boots into Magic OS 6.2 with NVDI 5 installed also, the Apex graphics package is awesome, and it also includes the classic Degas Elite, GFA Basic, Lattice C 5, DevpacST Assembler, Interface GUI builder, Papyrus 5 Gold.
The bundle also includes several upgrades, which should be performed to extend the life of the machine, but I don't have the necessary skills to install them myself. I'm including replacement capacitors for the PSU, and various resistors to improve the reliability of the real floppy drives (not needed if you keep the GotTek installed). There is also a buffer patch to remove the occasional "popping" noise from the speaker which is common on the Falcon. These were all purchased in 2020 from the
https://exxosforum.co.uk/ online store, which also has instructions on how to perform the upgrades.
I love this machine, and I hope the successful bidder will enjoy it as much as I have.
