It comes with a 5V USB power connector which I provided with a plug.
Tried it today without the power switched on.
The LED lights up when my Atari is powered on so I assume it's getting its 5V from the Atari. It also switches to my second monitor no problem.
Powered on it changes my Atari Desktop colour!
Why is everything a rabbit hole.
Do I not need to plug this in then?
Why are devices coming with 5V USB when it's not needed?
Also, how is the power changing the colour?

Re: UGREEN VGA Switcher.
That's odd.. looks like the 5v is leaking into the r/g/b lines somehow. It is a digital switch and looking at the reviews on amazon there are many people having issues with it... I personally just use a simple mechanical switchbox for my TT's two outputs which works fine, & a more expensive Belkin powered KVM for my other machines, so I can certainly recommend Belkin (They are expensive new, but can be found dirt cheap on ebay usually, from old offices)
I would return that switch as faulty to amazon personally...

Here is a nice little Belkin 2 porter, really cheap too & new: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Belkin-F ... 4280320732
And if you have a spare 12v cable, here is a cheap & professional 4 porter with audio (note you will need gender changers too):

Re: UGREEN VGA Switcher.
Thanks @Steve
I'll start looking through later. My Audio comes straight out of the VGA Adapter. I use the OSSC firmware without Audio as I just go into a Xenyx amp from there.
That first device confuses me with its USB ports. Does that do 1 computer to 2 monitors switchably? (There's no benefit of me seeing both at once)
I still have the box so could send that UGREEN one back. I don't mind spending more if it's good. Just Atari in, 2 monitors out with a switch.
I'll start looking more later.
Gotta go to Yoga before I explode on the people walking around like it's pre-pandemic...

Re: UGREEN VGA Switcher.
This is what I want to do:
Just without the RGB being affected.
So I might try one of these before I think about sending this back. If I could get in the box I could just do away with the 5V USB but it's just glued or something.

Re: UGREEN VGA Switcher.
Just read this again @Steve So you reckon the 5v leaking to the rgb will not occur if the switch is mechanical?Steve wrote: 21 Sep 2020 12:13 That's odd.. looks like the 5v is leaking into the r/g/b lines somehow. Re: UGREEN VGA Switcher.
If it's mechanical there wouldn't be any issues. As it's just a physical switch. No residual current.

Okay, brill.Steve wrote: 21 Sep 2020 17:04 If it's mechanical there wouldn't be any issues. As it's just a physical switch. No residual current.
Although the only issue is the colour change. If the box had screws I'd just take out the power.
Thinking of trying this:
I think the OSSC might be getting 'round the picture quality issues people are having. At a tenner I'll try it.

Cannot see a picture or anything... just a large gap. same as post above.. :WTF:
Have you scoped your 5v supply for high ripple or other interference?
