Vertical lines in colour mode.

Post by Cosmic Puppet »

I've been wondering what the cause is for a while and I've had all the mandatory fixes done.

I was just doing some more checking comparing stuff and remembered this setting on the OSSC.

I'm wondering if this might give someone a clue as to the cause:

Could it be that my Atari is a US 60Hz machine?

You could try 47pf on the RGB lines on the socket..if they are not there already..

Thanks @exxos

I'm not sure as I don't know what that looks like.

This is all the stuff I've had done currently:

Are you sure that not just strobing/phase issue with the "modern" LCD display? Do you have a CRT you can try it upon?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

It's identical on my Multisync monitor and on my PC monitor through the OSSC.

I did still have a High Resolution CRT monitor when I first got this Atari and the picture was inferior compared with my old ST which was the revision Exxos likes. It used to look crisp on the old ST, although I never saw it through a colour monitor. I only used it for Notator and didn't have this support network back then.

Had all this done:

https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... =18&t=3232

Works perfectly (with the odd moment when I just have to turn it off and on again due to normal Atari behaviour  )

Picture been poor from the start. High resolution is not bad, but the colour has always done this vertical thing.

I remember being disappointed when I tried it on my trust monitor and it looked poor. The monitor had always looked good.

It's not a deal breaker but it ruins demos like this that use lines:

US Atari 520 STFM (C070523-001 REV.D1) , Exxos PSU, 4MB Marpet Upgrade, Exxos 6 Chip TOS 1.04 USA, EmuTOS 1.0.1, Ultrasatan, PP Driver, Original Floppy Disk Drive, NEC Multisync EA193Mi Monitor, Star LC-10c Printer, iMP C100110-001 DMA.

@stephen_usher I've just asked that question here as it turns out to be typical of my board revision:
