Trusted Open Source Scan Converter (OSSC)

Post by Cosmic Puppet »

While this is a recommended place to purchase, they are out of stock for a few weeks:

https://videogameperfection.com/product ... converter/

Is this other version trustworthy?:
https://kaicolabs.com/product/kaico-edi ... rter-ossc/

Or should I just wait?

I don't trust sites where it's half price.

The last time I bought something cheaper it was fake.

Anyone know the score with these? Maybe someone bought the Kaiko version and it was great?

Seems funny how one site has zero stock and the other has 17.

Is that because nobody wants to buy from that site?

They hit zero stock only in the last day or so, and I know because I ordered one of the last few two days ago after I asked here about the retrotink devices.

Obviously I can't speak for the quality of the components that anyplace else uses, or even VGP. But VGP is only out of stock until later this month, so it's not the worst wait!

Thanks @stween

I, I know. I'm not cut up about waiting

Just wondered if VGP is the only recommended vendor.

Has yours arrived yet?

Not yet. It was dispatched yesterday and as of 10pm last night it was still in Ireland. No more updates on the tracker yet, no matter how many times I check it

Ha. I know the feeling. I ordered Battlestar Galactica The Definitive Collection from America and was constantly checking up on it for 2 weeks.

Arrived today. 8-)

It's open source, there are no 'Fakes'.

VGP are considered the original makers, but they only make them from a forum members design.
It's similar to Exxos store selling TF cards.

I have a Kaico OSSC and it's perfectly fine.

Are you happy with the unit's build quality too?
