Is there a good Alternative to Deskpic?

Post by Cosmic Puppet »

Since Deskpic causes a freeze inside Notator I'm wondering if there's something else I could try in it's place.

Does anyone have experience of a program that would be a suitable replacment?

What is deskpic? A snapshot program? Or something that draws a wallpaper on the background?

My recommendation is to use Xboot and have a completely clean desktop with no programs in memory when using Notator. Cubase and Notator are famous for needing the entire system to themselves, otherwise you are just asking for problems.

I am prepared to do that, as you are correct, although I have it working on EmuTOS with NVDI 2.51 with no issues now.

But, yeah ultimately if I start writing and it gives me trouble I will have to go that way.

Thanks, though I couldn't get that working. It does say Atari Falcon though.
