Stuck Bleep.

Post by Cosmic Puppet »

Just had this happened again. It usually only happens when using Notator.

Other than this happening randomly, the sound from the chip is excellent.

Any thoughts on what this is?
Since the Atari has had a full service could it be the YM2149F?

I haven't and don't have access to any. Could it be faulty even with less than 2 years minimal use?

Was thinking more maybe bad cable connection or may need keyboard chip reseating or something.

There is actually a OS bug which can cause that issue. But don't think it was ever solved... Assuming you using tos104.. You could try emutos and see if the same thing happens.

Oh okay. I am using TOS 1.04 and the bleep happens in EmuTos when using Notator. I was blaming Notator but now I know it isn't Notator or EmuTos.

That's kind of a relief to know Notator is running fine.

I wonder if a TOS 1.04 bug would affect EmuTos?

Since my keyboard is super clean and hardly used it could just be the bug. Crazy that emulators do it too!

I'm happy to just crack on unless it becomes more frequent.

Thanks for saying so. If it's a quirk I'm cool with it. 8-)
