What kit can I buy? A500+ accelerator
I’ve got a spare 030 from my blizzard mkiii.
I don’t do smd to be honest but can solder through hole easily.
Is there a kit for a TF card with some ram or 72 pin slot and ide I could buy with the smd stuff already mounted?

All my boards are SMD. So they're all out. Honestly dont think anyone is making boards without a SMD core logic chip (The board houses we use dont sell them and i wouldnt trust them anyway).Cypher0l7 wrote: 24 Jun 2020 16:22 I’ve got a spare 030 from my blizzard mkiii.

I meant a board that had the SMD stuff installed and just needed a CPU.

Thats just buying a TF536 etc without CPU. One of the builders will sort you out

Alenppc has said he could do a board. But says it’s based on yours?
Are there other builders? Maybe a place I could ask for quotes from other builders, one in the UK would be good.

They're all going to be that price give or take a few quid.Cypher0l7 wrote: 24 Jun 2020 17:49 Alenppc has said he could do a board. But says it’s based on yours?

The 030 cpu's are realy cheap, for a few bucks more you get a 030 with the board that is tested.
IMHO: It's not worth the trouble to buy the 030 boards without CPU.
Just bought a board from AlenPPC, it looks amazing, no question about it.

A few of the builders are already selling on ebay, I think I saw them around £150-160 and as said above you'll get a board already tested with a cpu etc.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

The Xilinx chip is £25 give or take.. the TF board itself is 15.99.. socket £10, regulator and misc passives £10 and £50 labour to build it.. yeah you're talking £100+ at least.
030 cpus tested are £20 ish ... so yeah sounds about right.

Are you sure your cpu will handle 50mhz? For extra like(?) £20 you would get tested and ready to go card.Cypher0l7 wrote: 24 Jun 2020 16:22 I’ve got a spare 030 from my blizzard mkiii.

IMHO it is not worth the risk.
