WANTED 1TB AHCI M.2 SSD

Post by exxos »

I'm using a adapter like this on on my old MB

As such I can only use AHCI drives, which seem impossible to find..

I have got one of these..

256GB and it works, and 3x as fast as my SATA SSD! But looking if anyone has a 1TB one for sale before I just go and buy a 1TB SATA SSD.. Obviously it has to be a AHCI compatible one as my board doesn't support the newer protocols.

If you can wait until lockdown is over I'll get you one from work.
I work as a member of a team that designs SSD SoC for Kioxia formally known as Toshiba. It will have done a few heat cycles but will still have years left.

I can hold on for a bit.. let me know how much ? It will be mostly used as a backup drive.. My C: drive is 250GB with the backup drive, so want to move to a 1TB one so I can at least fit 4 days worth of backups on a single drive.

I'll get it to you for free. I'm not sure that what I can get you, i would use as a single source backup. SSDs are not the right medium for backups. Especially if they are powered off for long periods. They are extremely prone to cold data storage errors. They like to be rewritten regularly.

It's going to be about 4 weeks before we're back in the office.
