I'm pretty sure that you still need a Cubase dongle to use this properly (though it might work with the cracked version of Cubase 2.0).

The couple of these I have came with Cubase v3 (and other Steinberg) dongles.

Being a Midex+, it supports SMPTE for syncing to/from multi-track recorders as well as the additional MIDI in/out & dongle switching capabilities.
