Hi all,
Just installed the GoEx in my TT and wanted to share some photos so others can see how it fits. This would be the same on a MegaSTE too. Normally the TT has a large metal floppy base mount, I didn't want to put this back in for space reasons so I used zip-ties instead. The zip ties hold it perfectly, a very neat solution! I then decided that my ideal place for the OLED display was just below the HDD bay. Using a little file it was easy to make a small recess for the cable to fit through nicely.
I was surprised how easy it is to use, I downloaded the blank floppy file from Rubber jonnhys excellent guide ( https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewt ... f=12&t=593 ) put it on a fat32 formatted SD card, and the Flashfloppy picked it up automatically and I can easily read and write directly to this image, brilliant! For me the Flashfloppy is good for two things: Removing the ageing mechanical drive and having utility discs easily available in TOS without requiring any drivers; so in the event of a HDD crash I can easily recover and fix problems.

Hi I have a long and a short goex - they work great. Not having to saw holes in the side of the case is always nice, and using a SD cards rather than a USB dongles just keep everything really clean. Can't recommend them highly enough. I also have a second long goex inside an old broken SF354's case which needed a couple of mm's filing from a the bezel on the sharp corner to fit but looks great, but still need to sort the wiring out for that to work as an external floppy drive.

What I like in the GOEX is the attention to the detail : having designed a front insert that integrate to the special shape of the cutout for the disk drive. It's in my shopping list for next year.
