If you mean the whole plastic "lunchbox" assembly, it's held down by one large screw you can remove on the underside of the TT.zack4mac wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2020 10:23 am Hello i have just managed to start looking at my Atari TT again, but I cant for the life of me figure out how the hard drive cage![]()

The steel frame in the hard disk caddy isn't connected to anything. It's held in place by welded plastic posts.
The only real "shielding" is the conductive rust paint on the inside of the plastic.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

There are early models with metal shielding all over and none of the rust paint.stephen_usher wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2020 1:25 pm The steel frame in the hard disk caddy isn't connected to anything. It's held in place by welded plastic posts.

We really need pictures to know exactly what you mean.zack4mac wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2020 12:34 pm Thanks derkom, but under that panel there is a cage that holds the drive and I cant for the life of me see how its affixed to the motherboard shielding? or does it just sit under the plastic panel / door? My drive cage is already removed but fitting it back together looks like this. Plus x4 screws to hold it in.
