Terrible Fire 534 does not work with Kick 1.3?
Good afternoon, buy a few days ago at AMIGASTORE the Terrible Fire 534.
I install it on my Amiga 500 rev 6A, with dual rom 1.3 - 3.1.4, and expansion ICD ADRAM 540, but I will comment on the errors that appear to me.
1- In Kickstart 1.3, the keyboard light blinks and does not boot.
In Kickstart 3.1.4 boot normally.
2- I use an 8GB CF and I have constant problems with WHDload.
3- Install the file 68030.library in the Libs directory in Workbench 3.1.4, but I still have the Whdload problem.
4- Try removing the 68882 coprocessor from the board, and I do not find the problem either.
The truth is that I am desperate since I spent 150 Euros and I cannot find the fault.
Could you guide me where to start looking?
Thank you so much!

I'm not sure 1.3 suports zorro III. So it probably will never work in 1.3. The only OS i claimed it will work with is 3.1.Turkee wrote: 31 Mar 2020 00:09 1- In Kickstart 1.3, the keyboard light blinks and does not boot.

There are lots of things that can go wrong with WHDLoad. Do you have 2mb chip ram? if not you will have issues with WHDLoad. See other threads on here about the same thing.2- I use an 8GB CF and I have constant problems with WHDload.
Use latest version of WHDLoad, NoAutoVec and NOMMU. There are a bunch of options that you need. Some of the guys here will know
Use MMULib rather that some 68030.library.3- Install the file 68030.library in the Libs directory in Workbench 3.1.4, but I still have the Whdload problem.
The FPU is almost never used so its unlikely to be the issue.4- Try removing the 68882 coprocessor from the board, and I do not find the problem either.
EDIT: there may be patched versions of 1.3 out there with Zorro-III ram support.

WHDLoad was never intended to be run on a 512k chipram A500.Turkee wrote: 31 Mar 2020 00:09 I install it on my Amiga 500 rev 6A
I have constant problems with WHDload.
You will need 2MB for high compatibility. 1MB can help but it's still going to give you problems.

If I were you, I would return the card. From the pics I've been seeing, they do a _very_ shoddy job soldering. Plus soonish you'll be able to get a 536 from one of us here for a cheaper price.Turkee wrote: 31 Mar 2020 00:09

Kikstart 1.3 is a no go!
No Zorro lll support, no scsi.device in it, it just can't work. You need to decide between leave this unit stock (KS1.3) and use floppies or go for WHDLoad and KS 3.1/3.1.4..
If You have WHDLoad problems - try to give us more information. Most common is Autovec issue, this need to be disabled in whdload.prefs
Second problem is ChipRAM, as mentioned previously, most games need 1MB, some games need even 2MB, so these will not run on a stock A500..
Alen mentioned upcoming TF536, this card will also need ks 2.05 and above since it's ram is in Zorro lll space, and this card will not solve Your ChipRAM issues...

Does this also apply to TF530? Or is TF530 working because of using ZorroII address space?Kickstart 1.3 is a no go!

The 530 will work but there will be no hard disk support unless you create a custom rom.pipper wrote: 04 Apr 2020 07:34Does this also apply to TF530? Or is TF530 working because of using ZorroII address space?Kickstart 1.3 is a no go!
I dont even test my cards with 1.3 at all. Not even 2.0. Just 3.1 and occasionally 3.1.4

Ok, that confirms my experience. It works well with my Kick 1.3 A500.
IDE works as such, but autoboot doesn't - I need a boot disk that mounts DH0: and then forwards booting into the 'Harddisk' (SDCARD adapter).
This is a Rev 8.1A board, internally upgraded to 1mb, plus an additional 500kb ram expansion in the trapdoor, bringing the total amount of chipmem to 1.5mb

Sell that 500Kb trapdoor ram and drop in a 1MB upgrade. The rev 8.1A has a 2MB Agnus, so you'll be golden.pipper wrote: 04 Apr 2020 19:25 Ok, that confirms my experience. It works well with my Kick 1.3 A500.

Yeah, I know :-)
I'd like to build one, though... After the nice experience with the TF530 I quite enjoy soldering.
Do you have any tips on a modern DIY +1MB expansion solution (ideally with an RTC on it... I enjoy knowing when I last touched a file - "oh man, I did this 15 years ago?!?!?"). Can the trapdoor even be expanded further (beyond 2mb chipram, providing more slow ram maybe)?
